In the Company of... Retail Assistant, Pearl
This week we are introducing our newest staff member Retail Sales Assistant Pearl Gray, also currently doing her Masters in English Literature, focusing on how mental illness in women has been depicted over the last century. We can’t wait for you to meet Pearl properly when we reopen at level 2.
What helps you feel inspired both in and outside of work?
Seeing the kind of work ethic my friends have and being surrounded by such a diverse creative output both with my friends and in my workplace only makes me want to work harder and experiment more in creative fields.
Do you have any films or TV shows that inspire your personal aesthetic or your work?
I think Studio Ghibli films like Princess Mononoke or Spirited Away inspire my creative aesthetic, but I owe my personal aesthetic entirely to Clueless and Legally Blonde.
What’s different about working for Company than other places you’ve worked before?
I love working with a smaller team of people - you get to know everyone faster, work more efficiently, and have a lot more fun!
Favourite activity/food/or TV show to help de-stress?
Watching something with Gordon Ramsey in it - it’s nice to know that however badly I mess up, I won’t ever have to face him.
Is there something that’s helped you stay motivated during isolation?
Cooking lots and lots of good food!
Is there an album or artist that helps motivate your work?
Blasting some New Order will always put me in a good mood to work, but if I’m already there then someone like FKA Twigs will keep me in a creative headspace.
